PiR Interims strengthens Life Science team at all levels

PiR Interims, the life science interim recruitment specialist, is building on its trend-busting results for 2007 with ambitious plans for growth in 2008 and beyond

PiR Interims, the life science interim recruitment specialist, is building on its trend-busting results for 2007 with ambitious plans for growth in 2008 and beyond. It has just completed a reorganisation of people to lay the foundation stones for this next phase in its expansion plans.

Firstly, the company has appointed a seasoned strategist, business manager and interim insider to the leadership team for the New Year. Anita McCallum joins PiR Interims as Director of Business Development this month and brings with her over 20 years' experience in marketing, change management, and consultancy. She herself has worked as an interim executive for a significant part of her career at senior management and board level. She has worked for companies as diverse as Transport for London, Thomas Cook Global & Financial Services, KLM uk, Anglian Water Group, and Centrica.

Carolyn Douthwaite, PiR Interims' Managing Director, explains: ìThis underpins the commitment to giving our customers and candidates the very best support and advice. We are redoubling our efforts to engage with clients on their hopes and needs for the year ahead ñ and to find the cream of the candidates to help them. Anita brings a superb mix of consulting ability and hands-on know-how: as an experienced interim herself, she has great knowledge of the realities of this market ñ for both parties. I am certain our clients and candidates will value her enormously.î

Underpinning this focus on clients and supporting their business plans, Julie Uttridge, joins PiR Interims as Client Services Manager, with a brief to assist clients with medical, clinical and regulatory positions. Julie is well placed to understand the key issues in these functional areas and her range of experience, in nursing and management in the biotechnology and sector sectors, and 18 months in executive search for Life Sciences, has already proven invaluable to both clients and candidates alike.

Internal appointments include a promotion for Sally Hope to Client Services Manager. Sally joined the PiR Group in 2000 and has been with PiRís Interim Practice since its launch in 2005. Sally will focus on managing client and candidate relationships for quality, manufacturing and operational roles. Her experience of building the Practice and understanding expectations of key stakeholders who work as or engage the services of interims is invaluable to developing effective relationships.

Lastly, to further strengthen the offering, a business graduate has been promoted across from PiR Group to ensure full delivery of service to clients and candidates. Nicola Armitage, Interims Operations Manager, will perform this pivotal role, developing robust processes and ensuring effective management of the back office facilities to support the growth of PiR Interims. Her experience of supporting search projects and building relationships over the last three years is once again invaluable to all parties.
