Philadelphia, Norfolk to Host Junior Military Officer, Enlisted Technician Hiring Conferences

Orion International Sees 50 Percent Company Hiring Increase

With the growing need in the East and Mid-Atlantic for highly qualified job seekers to fill positions in multiple industries, as well as a 50 percent increase in company hiring from a year ago, Raleigh, NC-based Orion International, the nationís largest military placement and consulting firm, stands poised to place former military officers, leaders and enlisted technicians into the hands of the countryís top employers.

Two Orion International Hiring Conferences, slated for August 6-8, 2006 in the Philadelphia, PA and Norfolk, VA areas, will place 40-50 of the most highly qualified former military officers and enlisted technicians at the interview tables of 20-30 military-friendly companies per event.

ìOrion has seen over a 50 percent increase in company hiring over last year,î stated Orion Vice President of Sales Tim Isacco. ìWe see companies complementing their leadership development programs by hiring exiting military personnel as future leaders for their organizations. Weíve noticed a greater demand and increased participation in our hiring events because of the skill sets that military officers and enlisted technicians bring to companiesí workforces.î

We are here for two main reasons,î said Orion International President Mike Starich, adding, ìFirst, we want to be the top provider of leadership candidates and high-character technicians to America’s companies. Secondly, we strive to provide our honorable service members with what is in short supply when they exit the service ñ we listen, consult and treat them with the honesty and dignity they deserve. In short, we get them the civilian jobs they want to have.î

Providing those jobs will be Fortune 500 companies from countless industries, all looking to hire former military at the conferences. Numerous companies from manufacturing, engineering, financial services, logistics, semiconductor, building controls, manufacturing, aerospace and power generation fields will provide civilian jobs to both junior military officers and enlisted technicians.

ìWe have evolved from using many junior military officer recruiters to using just Orion,î said Tony Colucci, General Electricís Consumer and Industrial Products HR manager and military recruiting coordinator, adding, ìThe quality of candidates from Orion International has been unsurpassed. Orionís great service and great candidates are an unbeatable combination.î

Candidates see the same type of success from Orion: ìWhen I decided to make the transition to the civilian world, I knew I would need help and decided to enlist the services of several JMO recruiting firms. Orion was the best - hands down. From my first contact, it was obvious these guys did not view me as merely another number but truly cared about assessing and fulfilling my desires,î said a former U.S. Navy pilot and officer.

The Philadelphia conference will be held at the DoubleTree Plymouth Meeting Hotel in Plymouth Meeting, PA. The Norfolk conference will take place at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Virginia Beach, VA. Both will allow companies the opportunity to interview and recruit some of the most highly sought after military officers and enlisted technicians, with virtually all having varying levels of leadership experience and managerial capacities.
