Office Romance
Many UK workers have already found romance on company time - the survey reveals that approximately 50% had already had a relationship with a colleague. Londoners have the fewest post-room passions; there is still ësex in the cityí with a respectable 42% of workers finding love at work.
Sexy Sectors
The sector seen as having the most eligible candidates for those looking for love is media and marketing, with well over half rating workers in this industry positively. Reasons given included the glamorous perception of the sector and outgoing personalities. In contrast, construction workers were seen as the least eligible with 52% of the participants giving negative ratings to the sector as people in the construction industry were viewed as less stylish.
Keith Potts, managing director of Jobsite.co.uk commented: ìGiven the long hours that British workers put in, itís not surprising that so many feel they will find their next partner in the office. Whilst itís encouraging that so many have already found love at work, there is a lesson here for UK companies. In this country we expect a lot from our employees and itís important that we try to encourage as good a work-life balance as possible - after all, business and pleasure donít always mix well.î
