Office support staff are getting a raw deal when it comes to ongoing training and development – thatís according to a snapshot survey by specialist business support and secretarial recruiter, Crone Corkill.
According to the poll, 45% of office support staff said that there was less training available than last year – and over a quarter – 25% said that training was now non existent.
ìThis is a worrying trendî said Gabrielle Drake, Operations Director at Crone Corkill. While obviously organisations have to look at all potential savings during a recession, training and development should be seen as an investment in the future – rather than a cost to the business. With more and more office support staff having to take on extra responsibilities and roles, training is more important than ever to ensure that departments remain efficient.î
Crone Corkill are working hard to ensure that skills, training and development opportunities are still available to their candidates. ìThrough the provision of our in-house training suite, we are continuing to provide Microsoft package training free of charge to our candidates as well as up skilling candidates through Pitmanís training coursesî says Gabrielle.
