O2 is calling for the UK’s best talent with a passion for technology to apply for 41 new roles on its established apprenticeship programme, which opens for applications today.
The expanded programme offers a broad variety of roles for those wanting to develop their skills whilst earning a salary. Qualifications will be offered as part of the scheme in Technology, Digital Marketing, Project Management, Data Analytics, Business Administration and Accounting.
Budding apprentices are invited to apply for a mixture of Advanced and Higher apprenticeships available across a variety of business areas, including Sales, Digital, Marketing, Finance, Operations, HR as well as within O2’s MVNO GiffGaff. The vacancies span the UK, with roles available in Slough, Leeds, London and Uxbridge. All roles begin on 18th September 2017.
Programmes last for a minimum of two years with all successful applicants gaining in-depth training designed to set them up for a successful career in digital, at the heart of one of the UK’s largest tech companies.
Ann Pickering, O2 HR Director said: “At O2, we understand the value that apprentices bring to our teams with their natural digital skills, unparalleled creativity, and fresh perspectives. This year we have expanded the scheme across a broad variety of roles, ranging from Digital Marketing to Accountancy; offering more options to our applicants than ever before, whilst answering calls from across the business for more apprentices.
Ultimately, we recruit for attitude and train for skill so we want to bring people into the business who are ambitious and above all excited about a career in digital. If aspiring apprentices can make that enthusiasm and passion shine in their applications, they’ll be off to a good start.”
Jake Long, Higher Apprentice in the Marketing team said: “The apprenticeship programme has provided me with great learning experiences, but also important opportunities to contribute to the business right from the outset. As an apprentice, I have been able to build a solid foundation of knowledge, whilst acquiring the skills and confidence to progress and look ahead to a career at O2 beyond the scheme.
One of the great things about the programme is the amount of exposure we are given to the wider business. From day one, I felt like a valued part of the marketing team, with the opportunity to help manage exciting events and voice my opinion on issues the team faced. The chance to learn whilst earning is also valuable to me, as I gain the freedom employment brings but also the resources to work towards a well-respected qualification at the same time.”
Applications for O2’s 2017 apprenticeship programme are open from 27th April. To apply or find out more, visit www.o2careers.co.uk/early-careers
