North West Organisations deliver key message at the fourth matrix Standard regional roadshow

.

North West organisations should seek to raise their standards to improve the prospects of those who they inform and advise - was the key message of the fourth matrix Standard Regional Roadshow, held at The Lowry in Manchester.

According to Tony Green, Managing Director of the organisation responsible for the maintenance and promotion of the matrix Standard, ENTO, not enough emphasis is currently being placed on the quality of delivery of information, advice and guidance (IAG) offered to both employees and clients by organisations in the North West.

ìThe government and employers spend around 33 billion nationally each year on developing people and there is currently a lot of wastage, and the North West is no exception,î explained Mr. Green.

ìThe matrix Standard helps organisations ensure the effective delivery of information, advice and guidance, therefore offering the best return on this investment for employees and clients which they are helping to develop.î

This, the fourth of many Roadshows that will take place around England to promote the matrix Standard, was designed to show North West organisations how the Standard has benefited others and most importantly, how it can benefit them.

Delegates from organisations across the North West listened and interacted with people who had attained and benefited from the Standard, such as Carl Hunter and Jeanette Thorpe, Learning and Development Managers at Morecombe Bay Hospitals NHS Trust.

There were also detailed insights into the purpose of the matrix Standard, the process of accreditation, and a workshop to help the delegates to self-assess their current performance levels as service providers of information, advice and guidance.

The day finished with a powerful motivational talk about making the most of opportunities, delivered by Britainís most successful and best known Paralympic athlete, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson.

ìOrganisations often believe that they donít have the time or ability to attempt to achieve quality standards like the matrix Standard,î continued Tony Green.

ìBut today has certainly showed a number of North West organisations that this is not the case ñ and that the matrix Standard is an enjoyable, challenging experience which has to date, led to rewards for all those regional organisations that have achieved it.î
