Norman Broadbent, the executive search and leadership consultancy firm, is hosting an Age Diversity Event, led by its Global Diversity Practice.

The event is on 27 February 2007 at 9.30am until 2.30pm (including lunch) at 30 Farringdon Street, EC4A 4EA. It aims to provide participants with a better understanding of the concept of age diversity. Practical tips on delivering improved learning and development for the older worker within organisations will also be given. Attendees will also learn about the age diversity activities and hear about methods and approaches to measuring success and ROI for age diversity. Catherine Webb from Coca Cola Enterprises Limited ñ Awarded the DWPís Age Positive Award 2005 for Most Outstanding Employer for the companyís approach to age diversity - will be a guest speaker.

The workshop will also cover innovative approaches to identifying attitudes to age bias at work, which Norman Broadbent have developed. These include measuring age diversity as part of workforce planning, Spending power of Diverse customers and to act as an auditing tool for the HR community.

Farrah Qureshi, Global Diversity Director at Norman Broadbent, commented, ìMany organisations are still unaware of the impact of recent new legislation on age diversity in the workplace, some seven months down the line or have not utilised the opportunity to refresh their diversity initiatives. The responses may include attempts to review policies and procedures, developing employee understanding and meeting the needs of age diverse consumers. We are working alongside our clients to assist them in laying solid foundations and then adopting innovative approaches to reap the benefits of age diversity.î

Catherine Webb, HR Controller, Employee Relations at Coca Cola Enterprises Limited, praised working with Norman Broadbent as part of the Diversity Works for London project. She said, ìNorman Broadbentís Global Diversity team has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this area. Learning from their vast experience to create the Age Balanced scorecard has really given us some focus on where we are and where we want to be in terms of age diversity. We are currently looking at how this concept can be used for other diversity streams across the business.
