New series of WorkChoices seminars to clear the air for recruiters

.

Recruiters will be given the chance to have their questions answered about WorkChoices in a series of teleseminars to take place over the next three weeks as part of the Recruitment and Consulting Services Associationís (RCSA) ongoing agreement with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

Facilitator, and Policy Advisor to the RCSA, Mr Charles Cameron, said the one-hour seminars will provide people from remote areas with a chance to join in the phone discussion and clarify their understanding of the new laws.

ìThe RCSA was driven to set up the teleseminars as a result of the common questions recruitment consultants, managers and their clients raised in the last series of face-to-face seminars we took around the country,î Mr Cameron said.

ìAs professional employers it is critical that the recruitment and on-hire industries not only understand the basics of WorkChoices but also demonstrate how the new law can improve the working relationship of modern employers and their employees,î he said.

The seminars will each focus on a different key issue, these include:
Pay and classification scales under the AFPC Wage Determination,
Award consolidation
WorkChoices and agreements
The 38 hour guarantee and leave entitlements under WorkChoices and
Preparing for the end of the transition period.

ìWhile they are suitable for all levels of experience and are aimed at recruitment consultants, managers and their clients, as well as support staff responsible for contract management and on-hired workers- attendees do not have to be RCSA Members and there will be plenty of time for questions throughout the sessions,î Mr Cameron said.

There is no cost to participate, however, registration is essential. To register or for further information, please visit:
