National Online Recruitment Deal for Eteach.com with all Secondary Schools

In a ground-breaking move this week, the Secondary Heads Association (SHA) has recommended to all Secondary Schools that they utilise www.eteach.com in order to cut costs and increase the efficiency of their school recruitment. Secondary schools could save more than 25 million by using a unique, new Internet initiative developed for SHA by Eteach.com.

Over the last 12 months Eteach.com has seen visitor numbers increase by 252% and ranked several times in the HitWise Top 10 most visited sites. These statistics contribute to the theory that the education sector is following other professional sectors and using the Internet more and more for their recruitment.

The new recruitment service, developed by Eteach, allows secondary schools to utilise leading online recruitment technology. Local and National Newspaper advertising is now beyond the budget of most schools when one single display advert can cost more than 1,000 pounds, but it is also the hidden cost of the recruitment process that schools need to beware of. If we add up the management time and administrative costs for the 75,000 teaching jobs advertised in the press last year (each application pack sent by mail to potential candidates can cost between 5 and 10) we can see further millions of pounds being wasted.

Using the Internet, schools can now place their adverts directly online and they will be broadcast across the web within minutes, reaching a much wider audience. Eteach receives over 600,000 unique visitors and generates more than 20,000 job applications a month ñ an increase of over 100% year-on-year.

Adverts are displayed complete with a school application pack and links to school reports and local information so that teachers can complete the process electronically. This dramatically speeds up the entire teacher recruitment process and reduces unnecessary postage and printing costs which could account for additional savings of more than 5 million across the entire schools sector.

The initiative is being championed by John Dunford, general secretary of the Secondary Heads Association, who commented, ìSHA is dedicated to supporting and advising leaders of secondary schools and this includes recommending efficient and cost-effective schools procedures. With the publication of The White Paper, this has never been so relevant. In partnership with Eteach, SHA is committed to ensuring that secondary schools follow this national online recruitment package and capitalise on its efficiencies.

ëEteachís online recruitment system allows schools to advertise their vacancies to a vast audience at a fraction of the time and money involved in press advertising. The entire recruitment process can be done online with application packs attached to adverts for candidates to download, complete & return. This not only saves print advertising costs, it saves the cost of printing and posting out application packs, not to mention the time saved with candidates able to apply online directly to schools.

ëI have complete confidence that this joint initiative from SHA and Eteach will, in time, become the standard method of recruitment for schools across the country.î

Eteach CEO, Paul Howells adds, ìI am delighted that we are working with SHA to provide a world class service for their members. The www.eteach.com platform will provide better informed candidates faster and for less money and reinforces the view that the Internet is undeniably the preferred recruitment method for all professionals.î
