A recent Roy Morgan report has shown Fairfax Digitalís MyCareer.com.au as New South Walesí number one job site, with a larger audience than any other job board.

MyCareerís market share in New South Wales grew 10% over the last 12 months, while the whole market shrank by seven per cent.*

There was significant growth in the number of Construction industry job hunters turning to MyCareer with figures from 2005 growing by 77 per cent. There was a 60 per cent increase in Transport and Storage workers visiting the site, a 23 per cent jump amongst Retail workers and a 35 per cent rise in Community Services employees.

ìMany of our candidates exclusively use MyCareer. In fact, 43 per cent donít even look at our main competitor* ñ thatís around half a million candidates,î said Lisa Watts, General Manager of MyCareer.

There has also been a dramatic 43 per cent rise in the number of part-time employees looking for work on MyCareer. Speaking at an industry briefing in Sydney this week, Watts said: This is partly due to an increasing number of mothers being enticed back to the workforce. Thereís a serious skills shortage facing most industries and mums have great skills that our advertisers are looking for.î

ìAlso contributing to this could be the fact that there has been a 25 per cent growth in the number of people aged 50-64 visiting MyCareer. Instead of retiring early many people could be choosing to take up part-time work.

ìIn NSW and across the whole of Australia, MyCareer is the countryís fastest growing job board. When combined with Fairfax Digitalís network across Australia, every ad has the potential to reach more than 14 million unique browsers every month.î
