Beyond.com, Inc., surveyed members across its network of more than 11,000 sites to gain knowledge and insight regarding the retirement practices of business professionals.

More than 3,300 users replied to a poll that asked, ìDo you anticipate working after retirement?î Over 86 percent of business professionals that responded to the poll said that they would remain in the workforce by working either on a full-time or part-time basis. Only 13.72 percent of members projected that they would exit the workforce once they became eligible to retire.

More and more retirees are finding they must work in order to live the lifestyle they planned for their retirement,î said Art Koff, founder of RetiredBrains.com and author of the reference guide Invent Your Retirement: Resources for the Good Life. ìOne of the main reasons that most are unaware of is the huge cost of health care. Few have planned for this expense and must find employment to make ends meet. Many employers are now finding that hiring older workers, often for part-time or temporary jobs, is cost effective as they get experienced employees who need less training and often have a better work ethic.î

Planning for your retirement doesnít have to be a difficult process. There are many resources available to help plan and save for your retirement such as obtaining reference guides or seeking out financial planners to help make the best investment decisions. Even at a young age, you can take steps to help save money and be in a better financial position in the years to come, such as considering student loan consolidation and debt consolidation services.
