An innovative recruitment initiative has attracted more than 15,000 visitors over the past ten days.

The Kelly Services Online Job Expo was developed as a way of attracting more recruits in the current candidate-short market.

Running over ten days from May 18 to May 28, the online expo transformed the concept of a traditional job fair into a dynamic online recruitment market for job seekers.

Job seekers were able to log onto the expo, seek information, search for jobs and submit interest in their chosen industry or specific jobs.

More than 1000 people applied for jobs through the online expo.

The most popular industry booths included Office Services, Scientific and Industrial. Visitors were most eager to learn information on the scientific, industrial and IT&T industries. While the finance & accounting booth prompted many candidates to call the Kelly Financial Resources office direct.

The online format of the exhibition made it one of the first of its kind to be launched in Australia.

James Bowmer, Country Manager of Kelly Services Australia, said ìCandidates were telling us they were bored with traditional methods of searching for jobs and wanted a new and exciting platform for job searching and applying.

ìThe job expo enabled us to attract candidates that would otherwise be difficult to find using traditional techniques.

ìWe are very proud that we created an innovative initiative that gained positive results for both clients and candidatesî.
