A new survey conducted by TaxTalent.com, a career portal for tax professionals, and TaxSearch, Inc., a tax executive recruiting firm, found more and more tax professionals are relying on online resources to do their jobs.
The survey, conducted in December 2007, found that more than ninety percent of tax professionals are visiting business related websites for research and news. Almost all of the interviewees said they would use a site that consolidated tax information, professional networking and online resources specifically for tax occasionally, often or daily.
ìWe have definitely seen a growing trend in tax professionals going online to get the information they need,î says Tony Santiago, president and founder of TaxSearch, Inc. and TaxTalent.com. ìThe Internet has finally matured to a point where it can better serve tax professionals from searching for career opportunities and education to sharing information to improve the effectiveness of company tax departments.î
Santiago, who recently started his own blog at TonySantiago.com to offer tax career advice, opened TaxSearch Inc. in 1987 to match companies with qualified tax professionals. TaxTalent.com, which he founded in 2000, offers job postings, career advice, salary information and more for its more than 26,000 tax professional members worldwide.
