Monster.co.uk partners with Brainbench

To offer online skills certification to employers.

Monster.co.uk, has announced a partnership with Brainbench, the online skills measurement company, enabling employers to match the most qualified job seekers with the best job opportunities at top companies. As a result of the partnership, employers will be able to access an online tool to evaluate candidates' professional skills. The offering, which is designed to create a new standard for employers to assess candidates, bolsters Monster's existing suite of services for employers.

The introduction of Brainbench services to Monster.co.uk's customers follows a successful partnership in the U.S., where there has been increasing demand for independent skills validation among employers. In the UK, a recent CIPD report entitled Evaluating Human Capital (13 November 2002) looks at employee skills, knowledge and initiatives and points to the lack of any widespread measurement or reporting on the value people bring to an organisation. Brainbench's skill certifications address this problem by providing employers with an objective qualification and quantification of job candidates' skills plus a detailed assessment of their professional strengths and weaknesses, which helps hiring managers to select the most qualified employees.

Over the past year, despite an economic slowdown, companies have continued to complain of difficulties in accurately evaluating and comparing relevant skills, commented Joe Slavin, Managing Director, Monster.co.uk. We felt that an alliance with Brainbench could resolve this issue for our customers, allowing them to screen out unsuitable applicants more quickly and effectively based on an objective method of assessment that is recognised across the industry.

We are excited to expand our presence in Europe through this strategic partnership with Monster.co.uk, said Mike Russiello, President and CEO of Brainbench. Brainbench products add value to the already market leading product offering available to UK companies through Monster.co.uk; for the first time, they will be able to validate and objectively measure candidate's experience and skill sets to make more informed recruitment decisions.

Brainbench has more than 400 online, computer adaptive certifications in a variety of fields, including IT, finance, sales, administration, healthcare and other categories. In the UK, Brainbench has almost 70,000 registered users and over 127,000 tests have been administered. Companies such as Ford, JP Morgan; Dresdner, Kleinwort and Wasserstein; Barclays and Intagen are currently working with Brainbench products in both the assessment phase during recruitment and also for the ongoing measurement of the competencies of individuals in the workforce.
