Monster is latest recruit to join NORAS

Monster.co.uk has signed up to take part in the next National Online Recruitment Audience Survey

Monster.co.uk, the UK arm of Monster, the global online careers and recruitment resource, has signed up to take part in the next National Online Recruitment Audience Survey.

Together with new joiners Guardian Jobs and JobServe, this brings the total number of sites participating in NORAS 2007 to a record 27, and data will be collected from more than 30,000 job seekers - the largest sample to date.

Alan Townsend, COO Monster UK and Ireland, said that as the industry continued to develop, it was important to know more about the demographics of jobseekers. ìThe data allows us to compare ourselves with other sites in the industry and enables us to provide comprehensive information to media buyers.î

The sample size for NORAS 2007 has been increased which will make the survey results even more robust and will enable advertisers to drill down into the findings in more detail.

New questions have been added to NORAS 2007, www.noras.co.uk, which will allow advertisers to compare the number of applicants generated by each participating site. The technology job seekers use to go online will also be revealed for the first time.

Richard Grimer, research manager of Enhance Media, which manages NORAS, said: ìNORAS is recognised as the UKís leading source of independent and objective information on the audiences of online recruitment sites.

ìAs online job seekers become more sophisticated and the market matures, more job boards are joining NORAS because they see the value of having detailed, relevant and audited information about the users of their sites.î

NORAS combines demographic data from each job board, which shows the quality of the site audience, and unique user numbers, audited by ABC ELECTRONIC, which shows the quantity. To ensure advertisers have as up-to-date data as possible, sites participating in NORAS have now committed to complete two audits a year.

Richard Foan, managing director of ABC ELECTRONIC said: ìNORAS continues to play a major role in helping the online recruitment sector develop as a credible and accountable medium, and the introduction of Monster to the study is positive news. Just like any other online properties, recruitment websites must provide independent assurances to their clients of the audiences theyíre reaching; to ensure that money invested advertising online is justified.î

Richard Grimer added: ìWe carried out a poll of recruiters who had registered with NORAS and half said the survey had directly influenced where they placed their jobs ads.

ìThe clear message to the industry is that recruitment websites across the board, including those who are well-established, need to provide advertisers with quality data to help them make the right advertising decisions.

ìThe sites participating in the survey will be well-placed to do this. ì
