Year-on-year growth for the Index now stands at 11 points.
After November’s sizeable 17-point increase in the healthcare, social work and personal care sector, December saw the category drop by the same amount, reverting back to its October level.
Results within occupational categories was mixed in December. White-collar occupations saw relatively stable increases with recruitment activity remaining at a high level, while blue-collar opportunities increased significantly for craft and related workers and dropped for elementary occupations; plant and machine operators and assemblers.
All regions except the Midlands and North of England saw growth in online opportunities, with increases mainly across the hospitality and tourism; and banking, finance and insurance sectors. Decreases were highest across the transport, post and logistics sector.
