For the fourth year running, Milkround.com is the most widely-used graduate recruitment website on campus, according to a survey of finalists at the UK's leading universities.
The UK Graduate Careers Survey 2011, produced by High Fliers Research, interviewed 17,851 final year students at thirty top universities in February. The survey confirms that Milkround.com has been used by 41 per cent of finalists during their job search, widening the gap on its closest competitor for the fourth year in a row.
Milkround.com has now been the most-used graduate recruitment website in The UK Graduate Careers Survey in seven out of the last eleven years, and has averaged nearly two-million page views a month in 2011.
Milkround.com maintained its marketing-leading position following a revamp to its website last September with the input of the News International Creative Team. The new look included detailed industry pages and industry insight videos from advice site CareerPlayer.
General Manager Jenni Joplin said: “The UK Graduate Careers Survey gives a real insight into how finalists look for their graduate jobs so we’re delighted to be number one for the fourth year running, and even more pleased to be further ahead of our closest rival. Following our successful revamp last September which has been a hit with users, we’re now looking at the next steps to building a career resource for the future”.
“The increasingly widespread use of social media as a communication tool will help guide our development along with looking ahead to future online trends. We want to ensure that finalists year-on-year see Milkround.com as the vital career resource for helping them into their first graduate job.”
Milkround.com has already seen success with social networking: more than 1,700 Facebook users have liked their page and the Twitter feed has more than 2,500 followers staying up-to-date with all the latest student and graduate news, jobs and offers. A dedicated Milkround.com Twitter jobs feed has also built up a following of more than 1,300, showing just how keen students are to tune into the micro-blogging site for everything from gossip and news to the more serious activity of job hunting.
Joplin added: “The online world is constantly evolving and we’re evolving with it. Graduate job opportunities are on the rise and we want to give graduate employers the best platform to advertise to the best candidates and ensure those candidates are confident they will start on the career best-suited to them.”
