Mentoring scheme set to revolutionise HR learning and development

A ground-breaking new HR mentoring scheme has been launched by media and entertainment recruiter, Handle Recruitment

The initiative addresses the lack of learning and development investment in the HR profession as a whole. It will see HR professionals from the media and entertainment industries offering each other developmental guidance and opportunities through mentoring.

Handle Recruitment is responsible for managing and administering the scheme, as well as match-making mentors with mentees from organisations such as 20th Century Fox, TripAdvisor, BBC Worldwide and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Gill Bell, HR Director of Handle Recruitment says: “When it comes to learning and development budgets, HR departments are often last on the list. We think HR departments deserve more investment and that’s why we’ve launched this mentoring scheme. Our aim is to make a real difference to the development of HR talent and, with mentors from leading entertainment businesses on board offering their guidance and time, we’re hoping to create something revolutionary.”

On participating in the project, Donna Blatt, Director People and Organisation at Sony Pictures Entertainment says “I am very happy to be involved in the mentoring scheme that Handle has set up. I think it is an excellent idea and will be a valuable experience for all parties involved.”

The project is underway with the first group of mentees having finished their training. The initiative will re-launch every six months with a new group of mentors and mentees.
