An independent survey carried out on the best internal magazines to be supplied in the workplace cited McDonaldís ëMDUKí magazine as one of the best in the marketplace. The magazine, which is written, designed, edited and printed by Summersault Communications, beat its rivals Ariel, which is produced for the BBC and Upfront for Lloyds TSB.
The survey polled internal communication agencies anonymously asking which magazines they rated highly. Results were then pooled together and the top five were ranked from one to five. MDUK came second.
MDUK is a bi-monthly magazine for McDonaldís employees. Aimed mostly at 16-24-year-old customer-facing UK crew members, the magazine is seen as a quick and enjoyable read while being able to communicate key messages in a fun, young and contemporary style.
This isnít the first time MDUK has achieved national recognition and success. Previously the joint Summersault and McDonaldís team has won a Gold Award at the (CIPR) PRide Awards, Overall Best Communication Award at the CiB Central Awards and won another Award of Excellence at the 2009 CiB Central Awards.
Gail Franks, managing director of Summersault Communications, commented: ìWe have achieved some fantastic results with MDUK and to be recognised by our peers in the industry is a real boost.
ìOur editorial team work closely with the internal team at McDonaldís and together weíve obviously created a winning formula.î
