Looking for your ideal job?

Try an intellectually challenging career at trump towers

For many disenchanted workers, tired of early morning commutes, exhausting hours and irate bosses, the New Year has traditionally held the promise of a new start and with it the possibility of a new career. But have you ever stopped to wonder just what that ideal job might entail, or who might be your ideal boss?

According to a survey by online recruitment site Zubka, the Worldís first recruitment platform to financially reward the referrer, the motivation behind the average Briton handing in their p45 is anything but simple.

When asked to select two from a list of primary motivations for finding a new job, 74% of Britons surveyed choose ëintellectual challengeí, placing it 9% higher than the more traditional ësalary increaseí, whatís more only 6% choose ëmore social hoursí, and 8% a ëbetter commuteí. Marginally higher with 9% was ëwidening social circle/making new friendsí.

With Britonís willing to sacrifice money, friends and time spent travelling to and from work in pursuit of loftier pretensions itís no surprise to find that 61% valued ëexperienceí and a further 45% ëhonestyí when asked, ëWhat two characteristics do employers most value in prospective employees?í.

Yet oddly enough only 7% of those surveyed considered ësense of humourí a valuable characteristic, presumably something of a necessity when working for Donald Trump, the elaborately coiffured American business tycoon and the boss Britonís consider to be the best of a bad bunch of bosses. Trump came bottom of a poll in which Britonís were asked, ëWhich person would you least recommend your friend or colleague worked for?í

Not so surprising was George W Bushís position at the top of the poll with 37% of Britonís considering a job in the White House ill advised. Famed diva Naomi Campbell came second with 31% while Tony Blair recorded another dip in the polls coming third with a miserable 10%. Despite his famous temper Gordon Ramsey received only 9% of the vote, while Queen Elizabeth was only narrowly beaten by Top Trump Donald with a respectable 7%.

What this survey shows

British employees consider an intellectually challenging workplace more rewarding than a high salary, sociable hours or a better commute.

George W Bush is the employer Britonís would least like to see their friend or colleague work for.

Most Brits consider sense of humour and physical appearance to be of little importance in the workplace.

Bad news for younger employees and recent graduates as the Zubka survey shows experience to be the most desirable quality when searching for that converted role.

Zubka is the worldís first recruitment reward scheme that enables individuals to be remunerated for successfully matching people with job opportunities. Instead of a thank-you drink or phone-call, users can now look forward to a generous financial reward every time they successfully match a person with a job. Based on a sliding monetary salary scale developed by Zubka, Britons could earn thousands of pounds every time they recommend a friend or colleague with a new position, simply by registering with the site and sharing contacts and information.

There are people who are looking for a new job and those who are desperate to find good staff. Zubka brings these parties together and enables the referrer to be rewarded for the successful introduction. The reward you receive for effectively placing someone depends on their earnings band but is normally between 6% and 8% of their starting salary. Refer someone into a job with a basic salary of 55,000 and youíll earn a reward of 3,600.

Zubka.com is the first service to tap into the self-styled ëReferral Economyí ñ the national figure based on the number of successful employment referrals within the workforce.

Research conducted on behalf of Zubka has found that the value per year of the referral market, based on the number of successful referrals per year in the UK is a staggering 7.6 billion . This enormous untapped resource will now be unlocked for Britons to benefit from via the Zubka platform.

ìEveryone is a winner with Zubkaî, says recruitment specialist and Zubka co-founder David Shieldhouse. ìWhether it is a financial bonus for referring someone, an exciting new job for an individual, or great new members of staff in less time and with fewer costs for businesses, this service enables everyone involved in the employment chain a chance to benefit, simply by sharing information and contacts.î
