Lloyds TSB International’s Global Mobility Banking has introduced a new guidance service for HR professionals, multinationals and relocation agents who are responsible for sending employees on an overseas assignment

  • Expat bank offers free educational and professional development seminars to provide  advice and guidance on topics, including taxation, immigration, education, banking and cultural awareness
  • Research finds employees on international assignments are happy working abroad but could benefit from more employer support

Lloyds TSB International’s Global Mobility Banking has introduced a new guidance service for HR professionals, multinationals and relocation agents who are responsible for sending employees on an overseas assignment.

The bespoke workshops are designed to ensure international assignees have a smooth transition to living, working and travelling worldwide and will cover a wide range of global mobility related topics including taxation, immigration, education, banking and cultural awareness.

Richard Musty, Lloyds TSB International Private Bank Director  commented, “As expatriate banking specialists, we understand the challenges and difficulties expats face when moving abroad.  Our research among international assignees has found that while expats are happy living abroad, many would have benefited from more support from their employer.

“We recognise that living and working internationally creates a new host of challenges, that’s why we’ve designed our bespoke expatriate seminars to support HR professionals and relocation agents, who in turn will be better able to assist their employees by supporting them with advice and guidance.”

Research[i] carried out among international assignees on behalf of Lloyds TSB International Global Mobility Banking, found some 61 per cent of employees on overseas work assignments are happier than they were in the UK.  However, more than a fifth (22 per cent) of respondents said they did not get any support from their employer when moving overseas.  Just under half (46 per cent) say they would have benefited from more help in relocating and acclimatising.

HR Directors, Global Mobility Managers and relocation agents can register their interest in attending a free expatriate seminar, with Lloyds TSB International events team at eventsteam@lloydsbank.ch.

The launch of the new expatriate seminar service coincides with Lloyds TSB International receiving the Best Expatriate Banking Service Award at the European Expatriate Management and Mobility Awards (EMMAs).  The event is run by the Forum for Expatriate Management and is widely recognised as the key hub for the Global Mobility Industry.

Michael Jones, Senior Manager at Lloyds TSB International’s Global Mobility Banking, commented:  “Two years ago when we launched our global mobility banking proposition, we wanted to be a market leader in this sector.  We are gratified to have received this award as it recognises what we set out to achieve.”
