You are invited to attend the launch of a new CBI report, íTime Well Spentí, which argues how work experience can encourage more young people to stay in full-time education and embed the skills that will stand them in good stead for their whole working lives.
With increasing concern over numbers of young people not in education, employment or training, the CBI believes students should gain valuable experiences of employment during their time at school. Not only do these experiences help embed skills needed in the workplace, they can inspire studentsí aspirations and help them achieve their full potential.
The report, supported by the DfES, sets out how schools and employers can work together to ensure students receive a useful experience during work placements. It also contains new research into the practical operation of work experience, from employer and student perspectives, and showcases good practice in embedding these skills in work experience.
To attend the briefing or arrange an interview please call the CBI press office on 020 7395 8239. Email: press.office@cbi.org.uk
