Cocoabeanís aim is to plant 500 trees over the next 12 months. After the NTW week, their Green plan will continue as they plant one tree for every temporary, permanent or temporary-to-permanent placement made. The trees will be placed in schools across Norfolk, helping to create woodland habitat, increasing bio-diversity and supporting environmental education.
ëNational Temporary Workers Weekí, organised by REC (Recruitment & Employment Confederation) aims to raise the profile of temporary workers and their contribution to the UK economy. Recruitment equates to 1.4 million temp workers per year plus a spending of 26.6 billion pounds to help facilitate business growth throughout the UK.
Mary Pratt, director of Cocoabean said: ìCocoabean was built on ìgreenî foundations and we are at all times trying to protect our carbon footprint coupled with contributing back to worthwhile causes such as Tree Appeal. What better way to spread the ìbeanî than with planting the longest living organisms on the planet.î
Ken Whitley from Tree Appeal said: ìWe are delighted that Cocoabean is going to spread ëgreen thinkingí throughout Norfolk to celebrate National Temporary Workers week by joining forces with Tree Appeal, which helps responsible organisations like them reduce their environmental footprint by planting native British broad-leaved trees.î More information about Tree Appeal can be found at www.treeappeal.com.
Anita Holbrow, Director of Marketing at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) said ìWe are never ceased to be amazed by some of the ideas our members have for promoting National Temporary Workers Week, but this year, Cocoabean has raised the bar even higher with its Tree Appeal. The very fact that up to 500 trees, each representing a temporary worker, are being planted over the next year is a fantastic way of recognising their contribution while putting something permanent back in the local community.î
Cocoabeanís Temporary Team Leader, Jenna Barnes explained: ìTemporary workers are an important contribution to our local economy. Not only can temps bring short term specialist skills to your businesses but they also prevent additional stress caused by permanent staff being sick or on holiday.î
