John Lewis is leading a special breakfast seminar on 15 February 2013 at the Victory Services Club in London. The seminar will be hosted by WCN, the leading Global e-Recruitment software supplier.
At the event, Carole Donaldson, Resourcing Manager from John Lewis, will outline how the retailer has centralised its recruitment model, and why.
John Lewis is one of the most respected employer brands in the UK, and its employees are a vital part of its success. So the retailer’s decision to change its recruitment approach, centralising some processes and localising others had big implications. During her wide-ranging talk, Carole Donaldson will explore why this was done. She will outline how the brand was protected while it made such a major change and how WCN’s e-Recruitment technology has supported the process. In particular, she will detail how the technology helps the organisation cope with growing volumes of applications while improving the experience for candidates applying to join the business.
Commenting on the event, WCN’s Steve Giddings, Head of Account Management, Channels & Alliances, said: “For most major organisations with a multiplicity of sites, centralising recruitment has a real appeal. It’s a great way to streamline the process, ensure a consistent experience for candidates, reduce costs and so forth. However, in a big complex organisation it’s a big step change. So this is a wonderful opportunity to learn from such a successful organisation as John Lewis.”
Those keen to gain even more insights from big employer brands will also be able to learn from Paul Connolly, Strategic Account Director from Work4labs, at the seminar. Drawing on his experience of working with clients such as Gap, L’Oreal and Guess, he will discuss how social media can be used to fill both one-off specialist roles, as well as situations where large volumes of personnel are needed.
