Valerie Sorohan, Marketing Manager, IrishJobs.ie commented: ìThe record numbers of jobseekers visiting our site presents a positive and upbeat picture. The workforce remains dynamic where jobseekers are showing high levels of confidence.íí

Sorohan continued ëíThere is an evident slowdown in some industry sectors such as Construction and Manufacturing but there are other sectors that are performing strongly such as Banking and Finance, IT, Engineering and Beauty & Leisure. A recent survey conducted last month showed that as many as 70 per cent of jobseekers were confident of finding a good position elsewhere.î

The ABCe figures show a significant rise in different jobseekers to the site of 27%, now totalling 526,548 per month, and a total of 963,397 visits per month, an increase of 23%. These figures clearly position IrishJobs.ie with the largest jobseeking audience in the country, reaffirming its position as the number one recruitment website.

Sorohan concluded: ìABCe auditing has mapped tremendous growth which has seen online move into the mainstream. IrishJobs.ie was first audited in 2000 when the number of visits to the site reached 114,442 in contrast to the 2008 figure of almost one million visits. The number of different jobseekers recorded in 2000 totalled 62,730 compared with over half a million in 2008.î
