Among Irelandís highest paid professions is accountancy which can guarantee a high salary according to the survey. A Tax Partner can earn up to 240,000 euro while a Chief Financial Officer can command anything from between 130,000 to 160,000 euro.

Managing Directors and Finance Directors are also in the exclusive club of those earning over 100,000 euro. The MD of a company with a turnover of over ten million euro can expect to earn up to 250,000 euro. The head of a company with a turnover of under five million can still command a significant salary of up to 140,000 euro a year.

Other top earners include IT Directors who can earn up to 150,000 euro and Sales Directors who can make up to 120,000 euro. A Director of Quality in the bio/pharmaceutical industry can earn up to 120,000 euro.

Lawyers continue to command some of the highest salaries in the country. A salaried partner in a Dublin commercial practice can expect to earn anywhere from 95,000 euro to 200,000 euro depending on the size of the firm and their experience.

ìThe IrishJobs.ie Executive Room is highly tailored to ensure the highest calibre of applicants are attracted to senior positions and ensures that the greatest range of executive positions are available to top candidates,î Sorohan continued.

A number of sectors have seen salary increases since the 2007, according to the survey. These include:

Banking - a Head of Treasury could expect to earn up to 150,000 euro in 2007, increasing to 180,000 euro for the maximum salary in 2008.

Legal ñ roles in this sector have also shown increases since 2007. Top salaries for newly qualified solicitors are now up to 68,000 euro from 55,000 euro in 2007.

Telesales - Managers in Dublin have seen a 20-35,000 euro increase in salary in the last year, where there is potential in the market to earn up to 75,000 euro.

Engineering - some roles in this sector have also experienced an increase of 10,000 euro since 2007.

ìCertain positions, such as telesales managers and engineering roles are difficult to fill and in some cases this impacts very positively on salaries,î Sorohan continued.

ìThe workforce is remaining dynamic with record numbers of jobseekers looking to change jobs. Where we see some sectors slowing down, jobseekers need to continue upskilling and consider diversification into other sectors that show a continuing need for skilled workers,î Sorohan concluded.
