The FIFA World Cup is broadcast to millions around the world who avidly watch the action on the pitch. But how does an organisation manage an international project team with 3,000 strong staff needed behind the scenes to televise such an event? This question will be answered in a case study from Host Broadcasting Services during the FREE independent education programme at this springís Softworld HR & Payroll (2 ñ 3 March 2005, Olympia, London).
Tony Palmer, Project Manager, Host Broadcasting Services, is speaking in the session entitled íFIFA World Cup 2002 & 2006 ñ HR challenges when implementing in an international arenaí. Tony will explain the selection of software for this project and examine how it was used to manage the recruitment process; manage staff at various stadiums across South Korea and Japan; and control the payment of contract staff. The presentation looks at all of the HR issues involved in such a unique project and how the use of HR and payroll software was and continues to be integral to its success.
