HR Confidence amidst the doom and gloom

Ashford based HR Consultancy, HR Limited, has developed a new product to equip employers to deal with the challenges the current depressed economy brings

Ashford based HR Consultancy, HR Limited, has developed a new product to equip employers to deal with the challenges the current depressed economy brings.

With numerous reports of large scale redundancies across the UK, HR found that many employers did not know what their legal responsibilities were. Given the current economic uncertainty forcing change on many employers it is increasingly important that employers making staff redundant do it properly and so protect themselves from the risk of tribunal claims.

HR ís product, A Employment Protection, has three key elements; an HR audit, which will identify any key risk to the business with suggestions to improve; a telephone helpline, which employers have unlimited access to when they need sound HR advice and insurance cover of up to 250,000 where employees initiate Employment Tribunal claims, to meet the costs of appointing lawyers and to cover compensation where they are unsuccessful at Employment Tribunal.

And to support businesses now, HR is offering the first part of the product for FREE; a FREE HR audit and audit report.

ìIn the last 12 months the number of employment tribunal claims has grown,î explains Hugh Billot, HR Managing Director. ìThe Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development suggest that there is no indication of this trend changing; in fact they suggest tribunal claims are only going to rise.

ìIt is not surprising therefore that with ever expanding case law and the vast amount of legislation that employers must comply with, the industrious and committed business manager or company director must have difficultly in keeping up.

ìWhat employers planning change need now, more than ever, is professional HR support. They need to have access to getting the right advice that not only meets employment legislation and complies with company policies but which gives hard working managers support and peace of mind.î

Although it is an especially difficult time for employers, companies must remember that they still have a workforce that needs motivating and now is as important time as ever to ensure that productivity and efficiency remains at its highest.

The Governmentís flagship ëTrain to Gainí is a training scheme aimed at up-skilling and developing the UK workforce to improve employee performance, along with business efficiency and profitability. Under this scheme employers can receive funding in order to train their staff and achieve a more productive workforce. HR can also provide this free training to employees.
