HR Conference Season Dates Announced

Symposium Events has announced the dates for its programme of HR related events in November/December 2005. The four events will cover corporate manslaughter (24th November), overseas recruitment (1st December), employing ageing workers (7th December) and pensions for employers (8th December).

The Symposium HR season will consist of:

Corporate Manslaughter
The Corporate Manslaughter conference will take place on Thursday 24th November 2005 at the Hilton London Kensington in Central London.

The new Corporate Manslaughter Bill increases organisational responsibility and will result in a higher number of prosecutions for organisations who breach health and safety laws. Most commentators believe that this new legislation will make convictions easier than they have been in the past. This timely conference, including the three workshop sessions for fleet managers, public sector managers and private sector employers, will examine the key issues facing decision makers.

Employing Non-UK Nationals
The Employing Non-UK Nationals conference will take place on Thursday 1st December 2005 at the Thistle Lancaster Gate in central London.

Eight in 10 UK employers recruit overseas and recently 42 percent of employers have increased their overseas recruitment. Workplace discrimination legislation and a proposed new immigration system are likely to have a huge impact. How can organizations ensure they are prepared for the practical and legal challenges of recruiting overseas nationals, as well as being prepared to tackle the more delicate issues of discrimination and integration?

Employers and Ageing Workers
The Employers and Ageing Workers conference will take place on Wednesday 7th December 2005 at the Thistle Victoria in Central London.

By October 2006 it will be illegal to refuse someone a job, promotion or training or benefits on the grounds their age. However, a recent study of 1,500 employers revealed that nearly one in three employers had no clear plans to introduce age policies within their organisation. This important and timely national conference will give HR professionals a definitive and authoritative guide to all key issues arising from the new age discrimination legislation.

Pensions and Employers
The Pensions and Employers conference will take place on Thursday 8th December 2005 at the Thistle Victoria in Central London.
