How do HR managers progress their own careers?

What makes you look for another job, nasty boss, no work/life balance, or you just want a change of scenery?

A surprising new poll conducted by the UKís leading search and selection site for senior execs (TheLadders.co.uk), reveals that even HR Managers struggle to get ahead, whether it be due to time constraints, or being too busy managingx other peopleís careersÖ. the poll revealed some interesting results:

*70% of HR Managers said they had experienced the feeling of being trapped in their job

*50% cited lack of time as the reason they were stuck in their current role

*37% said money was the driving force behind a job hunt

*While 47% said they had no problem pulling their CV together (one would hope if they are HR Managers!), a surprising 24% said that their current CV was just too longÖ

*Even more interestingly, when asked ëTo what extent do you feel in control of your careerí 77% of HR Managers said ësomewhatí, with only 23% affirming that they were

*Variety came out as the key motivator in their careers (58%), with recognition and job security following 2nd and 3rd

*67% deemed headhunters ineffective with the same 67% stating ëI didnít hear from themí as the main reason

*59% of those surveyed said they viewed the job market as an opportunity for their own development
