Norris & Partners outlines one of their new initiatives On-Boarding, a tailored and personalised service which they facilitate during the first three months of a new hire, specifically aimed at supporting employer and employee engagement and therefore retention.
The On-Boarding Service is a comprehensive list of eighteen different activities from which five or six are selected per client, to ensure a complete induction and orientation process is undertaken and the employee ëgets on the busí.
ìAn example of an activity we carry out is when an employee joins an organisation they have a list of reasons why they left their last organisation and why they chose to join their current employer - their ëgoing awayí and ëgoing toí strategy. It is imperative for the employer to ask the employee to articulate what is on both lists.
If the employer doesnít they risk never fully understanding the employeeís motivators for joining and thus they may never fully engage them and may struggle to retain them. The obvious danger of not engaging an employee successfully is that they can choose to self engage, for example, get on the bus, but they are also in control of when they choose to get off the busî says Lisa Norris.
The proactive involvement of Norris & Partners On-Boarding Service ensures the first three months of a new hire is successful.
