Graduates queuing to work for Sir Alan Sugar

A recent poll of the UKís top graduates shows that 54% would be happy to work for Sir Alan Sugar

A recent poll of the UKís top graduates shows that 54% would be happy to work for Sir Alan Sugar. Graduate Recruitment Bureau (GRB) posted an online survey on www.grb.uk.com to see if the brightest graduates from the class of 2006 would want to be the next Apprentice.
ìThis is surprising given the tough and unconventional selection procedure not to mention Sir Alanís forthright opinions he projects on television. Alternatively, maybe graduates can see a more positive side to him. The fact that he is straight talking and clearly focused on making the business a success inspires todayís graduates. Or could it be the six figure salary being the main reason given the plight of todayís debt-laden graduates!î

28% of respondents had weighed all of the pros and cons and felt that under no circumstances would they want to work for Sir Alan. Perhaps personality clashes could short circuit any relationship from the outset for these respondents.

18% said they would maybe work for Sir Alan. ìThese respondents probably felt that they didnít have enough information to make such an important career move based on such limited information such as a television show. This is in common with many graduates feelings about their future employer. Many graduates will have done some background research on an employer but the reality gap is often filled by what a graduate already working for them has to say. It gives the applicant a more candid impression of what itís really like to work for the company ñ the good and the bad. GRB donít resource graduates for Amstrad but if we got the call we have 593 candidates ready to take Michelleís place!
The online poll surveyed 1,099 graduates.
