Market Hospitality and Leisure Industry resourcing company, the Berkeley Scott Group, is delighted to announce the creation of a new division dedicated to recruitment from within the EU. This new division will focus primarily on developing the companyís burgeoning links with the Czech Republic, Poland and other Central Eastern European recruitment markets.
Building on previous initiative
Berkeley Scott had already identified the newly expanded European Union as being an excellent source of quality candidates who are ideally placed to help satisfy the current skills shortages being experienced by many sectors of the Hospitality industry, particularly the Chef and Front of House sectors. Candidates are well qualified, skilled, hard working and generally display high levels of personal values. The majority have good basic English and all are screened and interviewed prior to coming to the UK. These candidates offer client companies the chance to replace high cost agency staff with quality permanent or temporary personnel, at relatively low cost to the employer.
A wealth of experience
Headed up by Director of Operations, Tony Aylward, the new division comprises Gemma Evans, previously a Consultant with Berkeley Scottís dedicated Chefís division, together with two new appointments who both hail from Eastern Europe. Drahomira Safarova from the Czech Republic and Kasia Kaczmarek from Poland are both Resourcing Consultants.
The division will now focus on the task of further developing Berkeley Scottís Central Eastern European recruitment business which has been expanding rapidly over the previous nine months after the opening of the first satellite office in Prague last year. In addition the team will be offering support to Berkeley Scottís existing Eastern European candidates who have already been successfully placed into positions with clients throughout the UK, currently numbering over 200.
The initial focus was on Chefs positions but the team are now expanding their recruitment activities to include Front of House, Housekeeping and various other sectors where skills shortages impact on the delivery of quality customer service.
Further expansion plans for 2005
Having just completed a flotation on Aim, Berkeley Scott now plans to substantially increase its infrastructure to create an enhanced platform for growth and expansion into a broader range of service orientated sectors. In addition to the initial satellite office in Prague opened early in 2004, plans are now at an advanced stage to open further satellite offices in Bratislava in Slovakia and Warsaw in Poland in order to deliver a wider ranging and more efficient service to our clients.
