International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has appointed two new partners to its global employment, pensions and benefits (EPB) practice: Raquel Flrez in its Madrid office and Brechje Nollen in its Amsterdam office . The appointments are part of Freshfieldsí wider election of 25 new partners worldwide, involving representatives from each of the firmís practice groups.
Commenting on the appointments, global practice group head Klaus-Stefan Hohenstatt said: ëOur two new EPB partners will play a major role in strengthening our international employment, pensions and benefits offering, helping us deal with major cross-border assignments and fulfil the employment law needs of clients operating within a global economy. Raquel Flrez - Madrid:
Raquel qualified from the Universidad de Salamanca in June 1993. After two LLMs at Madrid and the College of Europe, Bruges she joined Freshfieldsí Madrid office in March 1996. Initially she covered a broad range of practice areas, including corporate and antitrust, competition and trade. As the office grew, she specialised in employment, pensions and benefits, including employment litigation. Raquel is a member of the European Employment Lawyers Association and the International Bar Association.
Brechje Nollen - Amsterdam:
Brechje started her legal career in 1995 at another international law firm in Amsterdam following qualification. She joined the Freshfields EPB team in 2002. Brechje covers all aspects of the teamís work in Amsterdam, including employment aspects of corporate transactions, incentive plans and high-profile employment law matters. She is a member of the Amsterdam Association of Employment Lawyers, the National Association of Employment Lawyers and the National Association of Pension Lawyers.
