Female graduates wow investment bank

.

A recent pan-European and Asian recruitment drive by Socit Gnrale Corporate & Investment Banking (SG CIB) has highlighted how female graduates are now embracing front-office banking roles.

47% of graduates accepted onto the bankís Graduate International Programme were female ñ far exceeding the industryís average ratio of 20:80 women to men.

The Programme covers areas such as equity sales and trading, M&A, equity capital markets and structured finance. Recruits will spend the two-year Programme in London, Paris and another city of their choice.

Graduate recruitment specialists Hobsons managed all elements of SG CIBís recruitment process, including marketing, attraction, screening, interviews and running the assessment centres. Umang Panchal, Business Development Director at Hobsons, comments: ëFemale graduates are more motivated than ever to apply for front-office roles, and are performing exceptionally during the recruitment process. Weíve also found that female graduates are performing equally well in both interviews and numerical tests, fulfilling the hard and soft skills that todayís graduate recruiters favour.í

Mathilde des Dorides, Head of Graduate Programme and Policies at SG CIB, comments: ëThe 2008 Graduate International Programme has generated outstanding results, as well as accomplishing our recruitment objectives to find high calibre, diverse and multi-cultural profiles from an array of European and Asian countries. Additionally, the class of 2008 has seen an increase in female students being offered roles ñ great news for SG CIB and the finance industry as a whole.í
