Email marketing firm Boomerang.com is host of this audio conference, titled How to Improve Search Engine Rankings to Generate More Customers and Increase Sales. In addition to including Whitney's case study of TMT, the event will explore the intersection of SEO and search engine marketing (SEM) with public relations and advertising. Attendees will learn how well-crafted and well-placed public relations and advertising content improves businesses' rankings in the search engines. The audio conference will conclude with time for Q&A.

Boomerang is pleased to be hosting this event, the first in a series of audio conferences this year, said email marketing expert David Kearney, CEO of Boomerang, whose email hosting tool received the 2008 Best Mass Email Tool award from salesforce.com. With each of these conferences, Boomerang's goal is to provide small businesses with the tools and knowledge they need to successfully differentiate themselves from their competition.

Brent Skinner, leader of the panel, is editor in chief of TMTóand also president and CEO of STETrevisionsóa firm that provides public relations and marketing services designed for Web 2.0. He specializes in public relations search engine optimization (PRSEO), waging online news release campaigns for clients to help them improve their rankings in the search engines. He has written literally hundreds of news releases designed for Web 2.0. An adjunct professor at Boston University's highly ranked College of Communication, Skinner has taught writing for the public relations, marketing and advertising professions since 2003. Quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Skinner is also a contributing editor to several publications, including Executive Recruiter News.

Vince Bianco, CEO of Newsforce, Inc., will join Skinner and Whitney as a panelist. Bianco has more than 20 years of experience as the chief executive officer, chief operating officer, president, board member, investor and/or founder of several venture-backed technology companies, bringing them from conception to acquisition. His company, Newsforce Network, provides a web-based search engine optimization tool for press releases, helping them rank higher in major search engines such as Google. Additionally, Newsforce Network captures and engages online readers using unique storytelling media through a national network of premium newspaper and popular news sites.

Achieving a strong organic presence in the search engines is fundamental to anyone's public relations and marketing strategy, said Skinner. SEO is just one piece of the communications puzzle, but it is a necessary piece. Once a firm has a strong presence in the search engines, everything else follows.
