www.execunet.com it was widely believed that the Internet would redefine the hiring process across nearly all levels - with the exception of the executive level - where it was assumed that executives did not have the time, trust, or technical expertise to conduct job searches online. In a white paper published today titled, Hype Vs. Reality: The State Of Executive Internet Recruiting In 2003, ExecuNet, a career services center for executives and recruiters, dispels these myths by revealing how Internet use has increased among both executives and executive recruiters.

According to the white paper, the most compelling reason the Internet has become a staple in executive search is because it adds to the bottom line of recruiters. In addition, the inherent speed, information available, and cost-effectiveness of Internet recruiting suggest it will only continue to grow as a tool in executive search.

The white paper also reveals that compensation level does not significantly influence the decision to use the Internet for candidate sourcing. The highest paying position posted on an Internet job site by the recruiters surveyed was $1 million.

It didn't take long for the Internet to change the executive recruitment equation, says Dave Opton, CEO and Founder of ExecuNet. The dramatic growth of online executive recruiting is no mystery recruiters are hired to find the best candidates and the Internet helps them reach this end.
