European HR leaders to convene in Brussels for HR-XML consortium Europe formation

18 November 2003 at the Metropole Brussels

meeting provides ground-floor opportunity to influence
the direction of e-HR standards in Europe

European human resources (HR) leaders will meet Tuesday, 18 November at the Metropole Hotel, Brussels, Belgium, to form a European-based chapter of the HR-XML Consortium. Organisations interested in this ground-floor opportunity to influence the direction of critical e-HR standards in Europe are urged to attend.
The HR-XML Consortium is the global, non-profit standards organisation dedicated to the development and promotion of XML-based standards for Human Resources. Adoption of HR-XML Consortium standards is proceeding across Europe and around the world. Within European countries, as elsewhere, localisations and extensions to the HR-XML Consortium’s core specifications are being developed as may be necessary under local law or business custom. Goals for the European HR-XML chapter are to:
Ensure that European requirements and subject-matter expertise are leveraged wherever possible to strengthen core HR-XML standards.
Expand the market awareness and adoption of the HR-XML standards across Europe.
Facilitate work on projects of particular or unique European concern.
Manage the development of country-specific localisations and extensions within a unified architecture.
Deliver better service to European HR-XML members and European organisations adopting HR-XML standards.
Facilitate regular European meetings and project conference calls and to host an annual European meeting of the entire HR-XML Consortium membership.
The 18 November meeting is co-sponsored by HRO Today Magazine, HRO Europe Magazine, and the Shared Services and Business Process Outsourcing Association (SBPOA). Co-chairs of the HR-XML Consortium European Chapter formation meeting are Alan Whitford, Abtech Partnership, Cheltenham, UK and Ingolf Teetz, milch & zucker ag,, Bad Nauheim, Germany.
