ESADE to host 2003 global HR development forum

.

ESADE, one of Europeís top business schools, is hosting this yearís Leading Edge Executive Development Programme, an initiative organised on behalf of AHRMIO (The Association for Human Resource Management in International Organisations). The Leading Edge Executive Development Programme is hosted on a rotational basis by four top tier international business schools: ESADE (Spain), The Cranfield School of Management (UK), HEC School of Management (France) and The Wharton School (USA) with faculty members from all four schools leading the programme. The 2003 programme director is Dr Alfons Sauquet, Professor in the Human Resource Management Department at ESADE.

This programme for human resource management is being held at ESADEís Barcelona campus from 4-9 May 2003 and will be attended by representatives from leading not-for-profit international organisations such as UNESCO, The Red Cross, International Monetary Fund, The World Bank and United Nations. According to the latest rankings from the Wall Street Journal, ESADE is the second best business school in Europe.

ESADE has created the five-day programme to help senior HR specialists develop and implement effective HR strategies in the particular context of international not-for-profit organisations, and has selected the impact of IT in managing HR as a focus for their programme. Other topics to be explored during the five days include:
Strategic HRM ñ Linking HR to organisational performance;
The Networked Organisation ñ Technology as a strategic driver;
Leading Change ñ Implications of change in a global society;
International HR ñ Comparing HR practices between countries;
A Strategic Approach to Resourcing ñ Management of diversity; and
The Learning Organisation ñ Creating an environment for continuous learning.

Dr Sauquet commented ìThis forum provides a valuable resource for HR professionals by leading the development of global HR thinking and practice. With such international delegates and programme leaders, we are able to offer a comprehensive perspective on a wide variety of HR issues.î
