The Employersí Forum on Disability welcomes the establishment of the Commission for Equality and Human Rights (CEHR) and the appointment of the first nine Commissioners.
In forging a close working relationship, the Employersí Forum on Disabilityís job is to make it easier for the CEHR to understand how to meet employersí needs and expectations. This will ensure that the CEHR delivers equality for everyone in Britain, including people with disabilities.
Susan Scott Parker, Chief Executive of the Employersí Forum on Disability says: ìThe new Commission presents us all with an opportunity revitalise the equality and inclusion agenda.
ìWe are particularly pleased that Kay Allen, Diversity Manager at BSkyB ñ one of our Gold Card members - has been appointed as a Commissioner.
ìAll our members have always been clear that we need a regulatory environment that is credible in the eyes of employers and people with disabilities.
ìThe Employersí Forum on Disability helps employers to become disability confident ñ that is to understand the impact of disability on the lives of their employees, customers and stakeholders. One in three people in the UK are disabled or close to someone who is.
ìWe look forward to a productive working relationship with the CEHR and to a time when equality for everyone is at the top of the national agenda.î
