Global financial services group Barclays has recently launched a service to provide a car affinity scheme, barclaysbuyacar, to their 59,000 current employees and 20,000 pensioners in the UK.
The scheme has been designed to complement the existing range of Barclays employee benefits and is administered by GE Fleet Services. It offers a selection of purchase and finance options and provides a choice of cars from Renault, Saab, Mercedes and Vauxhall.
Catherine Redmond, Head of HR Reward & Benefits at Barclays, said: ìThe successful launch of the scheme is the result of a highly visible communication programme through Barclays internal communication channels.î
ìLarge numbers of orders have already been placed through the scheme and cars are now being delivered to customers who are enjoying significant savings.î
David Hughes, Finance Business Partner at Barclays Corporate bought a Renault Clio through barclaysbuyacar. He said: It took about six weeks for my car to arrive, and the whole deal was simple and effective.î
Rich Green, Managing Director at GE Fleet Services, added: Adding barclaysbuyacar to the existing services already offered by GE under the Barclays Company Car scheme is a natural extension to our service offering and is typical of the holistic service solution we provide to our customers.
barclaysbuyacar is also a milestone development for us. We believe this cutting- edge affinity scheme could serve to be a model for more programmes of this type in the future.
