The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) today publishes analysis of the main workplace-related policies in the three main parties’ manifestos.

The briefings cover:

  • Family friendly policies – flexible working, parental leave and the default retirement age (written by Mike Emmott, employee engagement adviser)

  • Skills policies (written by Tom Richmond, skills adviser)

  • Public sector reform policies (written by Ben Willmott, senior public policy adviser)

Each briefing summarises the parties’ policies, while also giving the CIPD viewpoint.

The briefings follow the publication in January of Platform 2010: A Recovery that Works, the CIPD’s own pre-election priorities document (www.cipd.co.uk/platform2010).

A further briefing from the CIPD’s chief economic adviser, covering the parties’ plans for the economy, unemployment and the labour market will be issued for publication on Monday – ahead of Wednesday’s official unemployment statistics.
