Sir Tim is now the director of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) which amongst other initiatives deals with web accessibility, its goal is a fairer internet for all humanity.  To mark this important date DiversityJobs.co.uk is announcing the launch of a new inclusive job board platform for a fairer society.

Commenting on the launch Managing Director Morgan Lobb said “DiversityJobs.co.uk has been going from strength to strength since its launch in January 2010, our new web 2.0 platform adds a plethora of rich features including greater levels of accessibility because the clients we deal with demand their brands are showcased to reflect the inclusivity of their workplace culture”

The UK is the most diverse country on the planet with 300 languages spoken daily by 9.1 million people from ethic back grounds we have an abolishment of the default retirement age a focus on greater female representation at board level, pressure for gay marriage acceptance and a legacy from the Paralympics to uphold, never before in UK history has our country seen such a rich make up there is a kaleidoscope of talent to tap into.

DiversityJobs.co.uk seeks to change the way employers with good internal policies are perceived. Ben Chalcraft Commercial Director at DiversityJobs.co.uk adds “Many of our clients have excellent internal offerings such as belief rooms, flexible working hours, gay networks and child voucher schemes some even have gyms and saunas on site, who wouldn’t want to work for a company that places such a high importance on staff inclusivity and wellbeing. What we’re finding though is these offerings don’t always filter down to job seekers who may have a negative preconceived idea of that particular brand, DiversityJobs.co.uk highlights these positive cross culture organisations as employers of choice to change the candidate perspective to a positive”.

A recent report from The Clear Company in association with DWF LLP highlighted that 74.1% of candidates fear discrimination from recruitment companies so chose not to disclose their disability. Lobb continues “Given that 1 in 5 candidates has a disability this figure is shockingly unacceptable, however on a positive note we are seeing signs that due to tighter supply chain diversity initiatives recruitment business are beginning to adjust their behaviour, we want to address these issues head on and help companies that understand the commercial values of a diverse workforce reach new talent in a fair, accessible and inclusive way.
