Demand for career advice up 20%

Jobseekers facing an increasingly competitive marketplace are taking advantage of the free career management advice offered by recruitment agencies

Jobseekers facing an increasingly competitive marketplace are taking advantage of the free career management advice offered by recruitment agencies, according to specialist technical and engineering recruitment firm, NES.

Visits to the career management tips page of the companyís website have increased by 20% in just two months, with CV writing guidance increasing by 17% and interview advice up 22%.

The increase doesnít just apply to the CV and interview tips either; the most significant increases have been to the salary negotiation and career planning pages, which have seen massive 61% and 217% increases respectively in the last month.

ìThis suggests that jobseekers are now paying more attention to their job search, their CVs and their interview techniques in order to meet their career goals,î says Matt Cody, Marketing Director at NES.

He attributes the mounting interest in this type of advice to the challenging economic climate, which has created an increasingly pro-active workforce: ìWho can blame people for wanting to find out how they can beat the increased competition? Jobseekers are conscious they theyíre up against more applicants for new jobs and itís great to see that theyíre turning to professional recruitment agencies for the guidance they need,î he explains.

ìSpecialist agencies offer specialist advice, which means that jobseekers can be confident in their approach and can address any areas of weakness before they embark on the next stage of their career,î Matt concludes.
