Most people ask for a pint for their 18th birthday, but not Dan, instead he opted for membership to Junior Chamber International and in January he will become the youngest ever worldwide president of JCI.
Dan, 18, grew up in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and left school after completing his GCSEís. He begun a career in hospitality, quickly rising through the ranks to become trainee manager, representing a group of 20 hotels across England. Then, nine months ago, he moved into the training industry as a trainee manager for Talent Services, a company where heíd previously undertaken work experience.
He is hoping that by becoming president of the leadership development agency will enable him to lead a new generation of young business people to reinvigorate Britainís enterprise culture. Dan said: I have a passion for new markets and new ideas, which is why I chose to work with talented people. My vision, and the companyís is to supply training in customer service excellence, management and leadership locally, regionally, nationally and on a pan-European basis. Britain, in particular, has a poor tradition of training provision in respect of leadership skills.
By becoming president, Dan is following in the footsteps of an impressive list of famous alumni including George Bush, Bill Clinton, Jacques Chirac and Richard Nixon.
