Cyber Media (India) Ltd, a publishing and services firm, said on Wednesday it had teamed up with US tech recruitment firm Dice Inc to address a growing online recruitment market in the software services industry.
Cyber Media, a candidate for an initial public offering, said the joint venture to be launched within four months will combine its Internet content with resume filtering and search technology from Dice.com, a US leader in tech jobs.
No financial details were given on the deal to address job seekers in India’s $12.5 billion software services industry that employs more than 500,000 people, besides engineers in other industries.
Cyber Media officials said they estimated India’s online recruitment market at Rs 700-900 ($15.2-19.5 million) and growing by at least 50 per cent annually over the next three years.
The joint venture’s competitors will include Monster Worldwide Inc, which owns Monster.com.
Cyber Media chairman Pradeep Gupta said the company was also awaiting a Government policy clarification to launch a proposed Indian edition of US-based BusinessWeek magazine in collaboration with its publisher, McGraw-Hill Cos Inc.
Cyber Media, which also runs a media school and IT events, expects to close the year ending March 2005 with revenues of Rs 750 million, up nearly 30 per cent from Rs 580 million in 2003-04, Gupta said.
He said no decision had been taken yet on an anticipated share offer. We are looking at various options.
