HR practitioners, personnel managers and line managers can now gain the expertise and confidence to deal with the most complex legal issues in the workplace without taking time away from their desks.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Developmentís (CIPD) Law at WorkTM portfolio has now been extended to include evening classes. The courses are designed to provide a practical understanding of the essential aspects of employment legislation and cover how to apply the principles and best practice in the workplace.
All students have access to the dedicated learner support website, which provides a wealth of information, updates and hot topics, discussion boards with expert tutors and peers, plus links to the CIPDís Employment Law network, a rich online resource.

The value of knowing and applying employment law best practice cannot be overstated at a time when the landscape is changing. Lois Whittaker, General Manager, at the CIPD, says: ìA wealth of new employment legislation is now in force and itís not just personnel departments that need to be prepared. For instance, our new course on Applying the Law at Work caters for all those responsible for the management of people, and implementing their organisationís policies and procedures.î

ìThe CIPD Law at Work portfolio includes an extensive range of employment law courses, from how to prepare for an employment tribunal to maternity and family leave and the fundamentals of employment contracts. Subjects such as TUPE and employment relations are also covered in depth.î
