Couple Enjoying Fruits of Their Labour

A decision to give up a luxurious guest house in the lakes to run a fast paced recruitment agency in Bolton may have raised a few eyebrows

A decision to give up a luxurious guest house in the lakes to run a fast paced recruitment agency in Bolton may have raised a few eyebrows.

But for husband and wife partnership Chris and Julie Newton, setting up Bark St East based Newton Employment has been a like home coming in more ways than one.

Previously from Little Lever, Chris has experienced the highs and lows of the Industrial Recruitment sector over the past 18 years.

In 1990, he joined The Pertemps Group where he battled to success through the economic recession that affected the whole temping industry.

In 1994 he joined NES International, where he met Julie who was working as payroll and accounts assistant. They married at the Last Drop in Bolton in 2001.

In 1996 they successfully launched an agency in Manchester from where they supplied temporary staff both on a local and National level.

Despite the success of this venture a complete career was decided upon to satisfy Chris's love of cooking and three happy years in the beautiful English lakes ensued.

Returning to Bolton was a big factor in the decision to leave the Lakes and Chris says he is looking forward to the challenge of growing a new business in his home town.

Bolton has always been like a second home to us and we are looking forward to settling here again.

The recruitment industry is very competitive but we feel the honesty and experience we offer within this sector can place us at an advantage.

Since opening the business has already built up a list of 300 candidates across a range of manufacturing, driving, logistics and industrial disciplines.

To gain a foothold in the market they have introduced a 4 week 'temp to perm' deal which effectively allows a company to trial a candidate and recruit them full time at no extra cost.

Despite only having opened in January Newton Employment have secured enough interest from the local business community to make plans to engage two new staff members in its first year.
