Press release - Tarlo lyons: We had hoped to issue today a detailed briefing on the latest draft of the Regulations.

However, contrary to the statement in the DTI press release yesterday, it appears that the full and final version of the Regulations is not yet available. Her Majestyís Stationery Office have stated that their colleagues in the Department of Trade and Industry have advised that The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations (draft regulations) are still being proof read by the DTI. When they have checked the proofs they will be sent to The Stationery Office (TSO) for printing and publishing at which time a copy will be posted on the HMSO website under Draft Statutory Instruments for 2003.

We will issue further guidance as soon as possible. In the meantime we note that yet again the UK recruitment industry has cause for complaint about regulatory incompetence.
