Comment from Xactly: SAP recognised for gender equality in workplace

Tom Castley, VP EMEA, Xactly

“SAP’s EDGE Certification recognises the fact that the company has taken active steps to address gender bias, including both the proportion of women in leadership roles and employees’ salaries. Importantly, SAP conducted analysis of its employees’ total compensation, and then took steps to increase salaries where gaps existed. Unfortunately, SAP is in the minority of companies; in London alone, women earn on average £7,000 less than their male counterparts and gain almost half of what men do in bonuses.

“Businesses with a gender pay gap are ultimately limiting their own success. By failing to suitably reward their staff, regardless of gender, these businesses will not gain the most from their employees and their productivity will suffer.

Eradicating the gender pay gap should be a priority for every UK business. Through using the right tools, businesses can track and analyse employee performance against total compensation, to highlight where gender pay gaps in the business may lie and how they can be bridged. By making a fair and accurate plan, like SAP, organisations ensure that the workforce is fully engaged and enabled to drive the businesses to success.”
